Useful Tips to Understanding Your Cat Better
Cats are one kind of pet that can be quite challenging to understand if you have not taken care of one yet. Though it can be quite stressful to really figure out what your cat exactly needs from you, this article will give you some tips to better understand them. Bear in mind that just like other animals, cats are also well endowed with the means to communicate with you, you just have to have a little practice in understanding their language more.
In terms of pet cats, you can just tell whether or no they are either angry or scared. For example, when they are angry, then you see them arching their backs, spreading their tails out like a bottle brush, and puffing up. Moreover, you can also tell when they are scared when their ears are flat to their head and then they cower. But how will you find out if your cat is quite relieved? You can observe that they are more relaxed, will have a stretch, and will be cleaning themselves. When they are finished cleaning themselves, that is the time that you stroke them because they are much calmer and would like to have some time for relaxation after the thing that has bothered them is already gone.
The tail of your cat is one of the best ways for you to know what they are trying to say. When your cat will be whipping their tail from one side to another, then they are beginning to become upset or angry about something that is just the opposite when a dog wags its tail. Speaking of dogs, you know that a dog is happy to see you because they quickly come rushing to you while they are slobbering everywhere. If you talk about cats, on the other hand, you can see that they are happy to greet you when they approach you with a tail that is vertically upward and completely straight. When the cat does not know you but want to, then it will go near you with a tail that is vertical and then its tip is then pointed toward your direction.
Now, with vocal noises, cats can make a lot of kinds of sounds. For instance, they purr when they are comfortable and they hiss and spit when they are angry or scared. Nevertheless, there are still some noises that they are more than capable of making. When a cat meows at you, then what this means is that they think that you are an overgrown kitten that does not know how to understand clearly their language. Normally, when you receive short mews from them, then what this could mean is they are just saying hello or want something else such as to go outside, some food, or some affection.
